Nekomancer - UI updates and more~


Hey, everyone! Lavey here! happy to give a new update to the game~

As you may have noticed, I've not released a new build for a short while. Here's what's been going on. 

We recently added a new programmer to the project, So far he has been improving the UI, Inventory, and Menu layouts. He has helped with code organization and taught me a few things as we worked together. The month was spent familiarizing him with the code. Up to this point, I've been coding the game entirely on my own, it's been tricky to juggle so much alone, but now with an extra hand helping, I can focus on other tasks such as art, animation, and overall game development. I'm hoping updates will be on time and possibly more Frequent! 

There are now several notable changes to the game:

  • UI elements such as Inventory, Quick select menu, and overall game UI have been scaled up and slightly tweaked to fit within the center of the screen.
  • You can press F11 to enable Full Screen at any point in the game. 
  • Pressing Q will spawn the Quick Select menu over the Mouse's position, (planning on making it so you can Mouse over the items to select them while the Quick menu is open)

Bugs fixed:

  • while Idleing, pressing space won't allow you to roll on the spot. You have to be moving to perform a roll
  • Opening Inventory or Quick select while during lewd sessions won't pull you out of the session and bug the portrait. 

There is one new Lewd animation that's added to the game. 

  • A Red Werewolf animation. To access it, you must head over to the lone house by the water, the room before the Gate of to village, where two Nuns are hanging out. Walk over to the door of the house and Press E to activate it. It will also be within the Gallery once you cycle through the animation only once, and save the game at a checkpoint stone.

Had a blast with this game. Really looking forward to more ^~^

Feedback time:

The last boss of the current build is a bit to tanky. In other words has too much health. Also the vine spawn attack i feel like spawns too many of them, typically i just end up sitting and waiting for them to despawn. As that was easier than using fire to clear them.


Fire oni is crazy hot <3 They feel a bit useless in combat unfortunately, as having them hit an enemy feels like entirely luck based. I think having them aim where the player shoots would improve that.


The animation for the lewd scene for the first boss seems off anatomically, the arms of Avery seem off. I feel like i should see more, this is not too important.


After lich ditches their disguise, should there be a portrait when they speak?


Also my first thought when Horus is free, how fast can i lewd them?

Going to post some bugs i found. Let me know which method is preferred in the future for bug reports.


It is possible to get hit by projectiles when in a lewd scene.

This causes all enemies to freeze, player retains movement and attack. The player cannot access menus when this is active. This persists until the game has a soft reboot.


Checkpoint stones only recharges mana once. So when I use some mana, the checkpoint only refills mana once. This resets on a screen transition, so I consider this a minor bug.


Saving using a checkpoint does not save set items. Example: On a reload both fire oni and potion was unset. Minor inconvenience as the player has to set them again for each session.


The onscreen prompt for how to roll has a minor text issue where the word Roll appears to be overlapping slightly with "While". This might be related to screen resolution.


The final line of control explanations mentions that pressing space will cast magic bullets at enemies. This is not the case as mouse buttons and the 3 key does this. Further using 3 to cast does not trigger the character animation for casting.
